"I feel we are in a special moment for community philanthropy around the world. After many decades of work, challenges, achievements and lots of lessons learned, I have the sense that we are expressing in this field the ‘zeitgeist’: less labels, less conflicts over concepts, more acceptance of new practices, as well as recognition of old and effective ones. From conversations on the ground and with national and international networks, to reading many scholars and practitioners’ recent studies, it is clear that we are moving on from debating around 'what' and 'how' we do things to focus on reflections around 'why' and 'with whom.' And then we have a Summit, a moment to be together...what an opportunity to inspire and be inspired to do what really matters for our communities!"
