Community Foundations of Canada (Canada)
“The world is changing rapidly. Social, economic, environmental and technology trends are among the many shifts that are reshaping our communities and transforming the global landscape of philanthropy. We no longer operate in isolation. The global and local have converged to become more interdependent than ever before.
In the years ahead we will continue to see rapid change across all aspects of our work from how we build and share community knowledge to our role supporting Reconciliation to the ways we will unlock new forms of social capital.
As the national network for Canada’s 191 community foundations, we’re engaged in exploring how our movement can play a leadership role that’s relevant for the contemporary international context and connects us and our communities with others globally. There’s an incredible opportunity right now to look beyond our borders and leverage the resources, networks, knowledge, talent and skills from the global ecosystem, as well as contribute to help that ecosystem grow and thrive.
This is an exciting moment for community philanthropy and we’re eager to participate in the Global Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa - strengthening our sense of belonging to each other and our communities.”
